Lab Technician in the USA, Chelsea Adair, discusses her experience of working as a woman in the Aquaculture industry.
Why do you think it is important for women to work in STEM careers?
I think women have a lot of passion and talent to bring to STEM. I also think women bring in unique perspectives which are important for STEM to understand and best serve the needs of the public.
Can you name a woman in the scientific sphere who inspires you?
I don’t have specific names but in work and school I feel that I’ve always been surrounded by very intelligent and driven women.
What do you love most about your job?
I appreciate how friendly the workplace atmosphere is.
How have you experienced being a woman in the science sector?
I think for the most part people have been friendly and supportive and it’s definitely been an engaging and rewarding experience to learn more about how the world works via my science education and working in the field of science.
