Promoting positive mental health

We believe our employees’ mental health is as important as physical health.

We want to break down the taboos around mental health in the workplace and create a working environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported in looking after their mental wellbeing.

To address this, a programme has been put in place. As a first step, a group of employees have been trained by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England to become a Mental Health First Aider trainer with the aim to have at least one Mental Health First Aider at each of our sites. The first training course took place during September and involved employees from the UK, Belgium and Iceland. There are now 15 trained mental health first aiders who are available for any employee to contact.

Moving forward, we intend to build on the first aid programme by providing managers with training in the recognition of symptoms and the implementation of appropriate workplace preventative measures.
