As part of a series of Q&As with our LOV Award winners we interviewed Teri to find out more about her role and what the Passionate value means to her:

Can you describe your role at Benchmark?

My career with Benchmark began in 2002 at INVE Aquaculture, Inc. in Utah. Over the years, I’ve worked in various roles but predominantly in Sales and Logistics. I was initially focused on managing exports and imports (sales to all our service centres and customers) and I was briefly part of the excellent Regulatory Affairs Team before returning to lead as the Customer Service Manager. In May 2023, I assumed the position of Plant Manager at INVE. Now, my focus is on the operational aspects, contributing to the Utah plant’s commitment to delivering high quality Artemia Cysts worldwide.

Can you tell us what you enjoy most about your work?

There are two parts to my work that I enjoy the most. Firstly, developing close relationships with our customers brings me immense satisfaction. Being a people person, I enjoy getting to know our customers and ensuring they have the best possible experience with INVE. Secondly, overseeing inventories at the plant appeals to my love for detail and order, making it a great part of my responsibilities.

What does commercial value mean to you?

To me, commercial value is intricately linked to customer satisfaction. If we prioritise our customers, delivering high-quality products and services, in turn customers will value our company. Building a mutual sense of value encourages long-term partnerships. It’s not just about customers finding value in our offerings but also realizing that we genuinely appreciate and prioritize their role in our business.

Could you share an example of an accomplishment that you were involved with last year which helped to drive commercial success?

One significant achievement in the past year involved obtaining crucial certifications for INVE. Already certified in GMP, HACCP, and Halal, we added Global Gap and Marine Steward Council certifications in 2023, a rare accomplishment in the Artemia industry. As the global demand for higher quality standards grows, securing these certifications marks a substantial success for INVE. It reinforces our commitment to commercial excellence for our customers which in turn ensures repeat orders.
